The challenge of being original
Creativity doesn't require genius. Genius is what we call people who are already creative
One painful lesson I learned from my first startup is that doing anything new is like dragging the entire world up a hill kicking and screaming.
Conventional wisdom says that change is bad. When you have an idea for change, you can rely on friends and family to give you one million reasons it will never work. Their goal is to convince you that you haven’t thought through all of the details.
However, as an entrepreneur, your job is to question the conventional wisdom. Startups succeed by being original. If everybody loves your idea, you are likely not doing anything new.
